COMMUNITIES IN SCHOOLS
Showcasing real student impact through a documentary series for Communities In Schools of North Central Washington
A documentary-style campaign created to highlight the real, day-to-day impact of site coordinators working directly with students, designed to support fundraising, awareness, and community engagement.
Project Overview
• Goal: Communicate real-world impact & support fundraising efforts
• Deliverables: 11-minute flagship documentary + two 5–6 minute individual stories
• Format: Observational documentary + interviews
• Locations: Multiple schools across North Central Washington
• Client: Communities In Schools of NCW
Story Focus
Rather than explaining the program at a high level, the film centers on real relationships, showing how consistent support from a site coordinator can directly influence a student’s experience both inside and outside the classroom.
Behind the scenes
Approach
We focused on capturing authentic, unscripted moments by following two site coordinators throughout their day, allowing the story to unfold naturally. Interviews with both the coordinators and students were used to add emotional depth and context, turning everyday interactions into a clear narrative of impact
